My Sony DSC W290 loses its date and time when turned off

yes, I am leaving the battery in and it is fully charged

Figured out the problem, and only by accident... The battery I was using was bad, I changed the battery with another one (my back up) and the camera date reamins updated. As soon as I put the old battery in it the problem resurfaces.
