Sony GDM-FW900

see my post from 4/3...
If you get a "good" one, it'll kick major ass.
I was able to evaluate 2 for a week. One has excellent geometry, but text was blurry in the corners that couldn't be fixed w/the osd controls. The other has OK geometry and pretty sharp text across entire screen. I'm returning the one w/blurry corners. For something in this price range, the extent of blurriness is unacceptable.

Calibration SW like DisplayMate really helps to set these things up because the screen is huge. It takes some time to inspect the entire real estate while you're making adjustments. Between my Mits 2020u, Sony G520, and the new FW900, the G520 still has the best overall geometry and text sharpness.

If you want good overall geometry and text sharpness than LCD is definitely the way to go. I have two workstations both attached to two monitor(one LCD and one CRT). Images and text are sharper on the LCD and there is no geometry distortion problem with LCD. CRT have better color and better response time.

Did you see any white shadows to the right of vertical lines for the sony's you own(ed)?? I had e540 I returned because of this and the e200 I still own shows this to a lesser extent (not noticed till I got the mitsu). I have dp2060u that absolutely has none. I noticed on the e200, the shadows actually help the text "jump" out by highlighting.

Your input is appreciated as I'm wondering if all sony's display this or my bad luck X2. If not, I might venture for another sony.

Thanks

Quality is better than name brand, even regarding beloved AMD.
