How is this in any way better than the Apple TV? Sony's 1st party streaming has been terrible to date. Further, unless it's part of the playstation console, I want no part of it. The advantage would be one less thing to plug in. Instead, it's one more thing. Pass for now.

If sony can offer a streaming service for the major cable networks like netflix... cheap and unlimited, it would be great

but if its like amazon where u have to buy individual episodes, its nothing better than what roku, chromecast or apple has

If you don't have any better ideas just copy what everyone else is doing. Sony knows streaming video is big business and getting bigger, they would be stupid not to try to throw their hat in the ring.
