Does the PS5 have a second M.2 slot, or are we talking about upgrading the current drive to a larger one?

The cheapest I can find which meets the spec is the 2TB PNY XLR CS3040 for $300. Has a 5,600MB/s read speed. But, no one seems to be getting those speeds. Even with tweaks, people are only getting 5,000 MB/s.

You'll most likely have to get one of the newer drives that hit over 7,000 MB/s with the Phison PS5018-E18 NVMe controller for about $400 at 2TB. Or the Samsung 980 Pro for $400.

The PlayStation 5 will support M.2 SSDs up to 2280, mostly like they will only support NVMe Gen4 SSDs.
