I have a Sony Vaio VPCCB that wont reboot since the latest windows 10 updated and it being shutdown, When I turn on the laptop it shows me the vaio logo then goes black with a white dash in the upper left hand corner.

I have tried restarting with removing and replacing the power sources atleast 10 times, I have been able to get to the BIOS page from F2 but am not sure what to do there, I have tried F12 which gets me to the Vaio Rescue page, I checked the hardware and it came back as running normally but when I restart it goes back to the black screen with a white dash. Please Help

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by loading in BIOS again then press F9 to set its default then press F10 to save and exit.
- If it will still not work, load into BIOS again and set the HDD as the 1st boot device.
- If the same problem will persist you'll need to reinstall Windows 10 in your laptop.
- You can use the Vaio Rescue page to reinstall Windows.
- Here's how: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/41931/p/48903,48904,49639,49641/c/65,66/kw/how%20to%20do%20a%20system%20recovery

So I tried all of those suggestions, as well as downloading windows 8 to a USB and putting it in the port before turning on the power and having changed in the BIOS the external device for booting options but no luck at all

I also looked through Sony's online help and theirs all just suggest trouble shooting once the laptop is at the start menu or the start and F8 key which doesn't work

Also I don't know if this is helpful but if i press Ctrl Alt Delete it will show the Sony logo
