Hey all,
So I have a sony vaio laptop that wont power on. I accidentally touched a spot on the motherboard near the battery while the laptop was on (I know it was stupid to even take the back off while it was running, I don't want to talk about it lol) and it wont turn on. I replaced the battery and power cords, both charger and charging port. What's interesting is that sometimes the charge light will come on, but will turn off after some amount of time. It also turns off if I press the power button, but will come back on. Once the charging light is off, plugged in or on the battery, one of the leds blinks, but then goes off. After, the charge light pulses very faintly once.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help in resolving the issue.
- Start by doing a hard reset, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try if it will boot up.
- If these will not work test the AC adapter to see if it's supplying enough voltage to power the laptop or if you have another charger that has the same voltage you can use try it and see if it will boot up normally.
- Next to try is to reseat the RAM, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure that they are all seated properly.
- If all these will not work the problem will be with the motherboard of your laptop.
