Sony Vegas Pro says Program not responding

PLEASE HELP! Whenever i open up sony vegas pro 13 it works fine. When i open up something though, it doesnt load it. I've looked everywhere and I can't find an answer! I really need this to be answered soon! Please Help me

EDIT: I dont know how to reply, so ill just answer now. Yes, I have tried uninstalling and installing, and the file type is .avi. Yes, I want to edit it.

By "opening up something" do you mean importing video to be edited? If yes, what type of file or files are you trying to import (.avi, .mp4. .mpeg, or something else)? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Vegas 13 to see if that solves the problem?
