My rig:
AMD FX 6300
8GB vengeance
GTX 750ti 2GB OC
WD blue 1TB

My issue is, I sony vegas 13 for a long time and noticed recently that my rendering speed is too low, say 15mins for a 3.33minutes video.
Only around 500MB of RAM has being used by vegas, but 100% utilization of all 6 cores 🙁 .
What I have to do to just make Vegas utilize more RAM to speed up the process, though rendering is a CPU-intensive operation, 0.5GB out of 8GB of RAM is poor I guess.
No background tasks also running.

Solution
it's normal i think...
you can see, I rendered my video (length 26:xx mins), WTM shows high CPU utilitization even I've choose openGL in encode mode

ntice, I opened Chrome and winamp (and other background apps maybe) while rendering makes RAM shows 5.xxGB

all i know, activities like rendering, converting, or so may use CPU utilization
how fast you rendering, depends format you choose, length, and CPU instruction sets, and codecs maybe
Two things: 1) you should be able to increase your RAM usage substantially in the video tab in preferences; and

2) You're doing it the wrong way

Vegas uses GPU Compute and OpenCL for AVC/H.264 editing and rendering. That is not a strong suit of the GTX 750ti, though it should be faster than 'software rendering' on the CPU cores alone.

Thanks fr ur reply.
But I got faster rendering times with my old GPU (R7 250 1GB GDDR5)
I hope tat wont be a problem! :/

Thank fr ur reply.
I mentioned oly 0.5 out of 8GB RAM. But ur's is utilizing 5.xxGB of RAM. Tat is wat I'm asking, Why very poor RAM usage?

The Radeons are substantially faster in Vegas GPU Compute. It would not surprise me if the R7 250 were easily 40- to 50% faster than the GTX 750ti.

You should do your best to maintain from input to output the format, bit rate and resolution of your video. The most appropriate format would be AVC/H.264/Mpeg4 --- it's Sony's *Industry* standard

hhmm~
i think you need to upgrade your RAM, but that's your choice

brave enough about background apps running, enjoy music and browsing inet while Vegas rendering, I had 10 GB (2+8), but still, my proc did the heavy task

I guessed...anyways, thank u :)

Why to upgrade RAM??
