[SOLVED] Sony x900f as monitor

so i plan to use this TV as a monitor, but im concerned about potential lag when scrolling....is 4k at 30 hz for PC really bad/choppy?

my laptops dont have hdmi 2.0 (i heard most don't)....although I do have the original surface book....maybe active minidisplay to HDMI adapter will do the trick?

if I don't use the surface, which laptop should I get to support 4k as 60 Hz ? the issue seems two fold ...1) many laptops don't have hdmi 2.0; 2) this tv lacks displayport (not sure how many laptops have this port either).

I'd rather not use my surface as it's my portable laptop and I'm seeking a budget laptop to be used for the TV

This might be worth a read. That being said, can you pass on the SKU to your Surface and the other laptop's make and model? You might want to also state what the monitor will be used for and which monitor you currently have as there are 5 models showing up on Sony's support site.
