Unsure what which motherboard to get & which ones support what.

Getting an Intel i5 / i7 processor
8 - 16 gb Ram
Nvidia 970 card some
basic cooling system
solid state
HDD 3.5 internal HDD.

But what board do i need to support this & what options should I choose from?

Ahh okay - I understand the K series have the option to overclock?
Also if I were not to get a K series, what series of motherboard would you suggest? Still a K?

Okay great. Please can you advise what makes one motherboard more suitable to another? What are the important aspects/specs?

And I will be using the PC for gaming, looking to run BG1 rather well - But I am no longer a heavy gamer.
I want just a real good PC that will be future proofed for a bit of time.

And I am willing to spend up to £900 (not including keyboard, mouse monitors - just the tower & the internal components)

Wow great response chizrah!
Really appreciate that!

Final question is around extra cooling. Would this be required/make a good difference? And any suggestions?

Thanks again!

In that build I used a 6600, which isn't overclockable. The stock fan is fine if you are running at stock speeds. Having said that, they can get a bit loud. Buy a cheaper case and pick up a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo if you must.
