Sorc Blizzard damage display

Hi all

I know this has probably been answered before, but could someone
confirm that i have this correct please. The D2Items.com skill planner
http://www.d2items.com/skills.php shows that my sorc's blizzard
should do around 4000 dmg at its current levels, but my on screen
display (and, it has to be said, the skill display) it shows only
around the 3000 mark. My belief is that the damage inflicted is at the
higher figure, but that the synergies don't get taken into account on
the display - is this correct, or are synergies capped at 20?

exact damages and levels are as follows :

Equipment 1

Ice Bolt 9
Ice Blast 25
Glacial Spike 25
Blizzard 28
Cold Mastery 6

Display Dmg 3168 - 3350

Calc Dmg 3910 - 4135

Equipment 2

Ice Bolt 11
Ice Blast 27
Glacial Spike 27
Blizzard 27
Cold Mastery 8

Display Dmg 2992 - 3171

Calc Dmg 3973 - 4211

Synergies are indeed capped at 20, so you have to put 20 in those, and all
your + skills into [all sorc skills] and [cold skills] instead. If you put 7
in those, it will show the correct damage.

Thanks for that - works a treat now. If I have a +single skill item
(like a +3 blizzard orb) can I put the blizzard up to 23 on the
calculator to see what the damage should be, or does it fall over at
that point (assuming I also have +all and +cold items too?

It will show the correct damage for the Blizzard skill then, but other
skills where Blizz is a synergy will not be correct. So you can only look at
the specific skill where you add extra points.

You can also add + cold skills or + all skills and just look at blizzard.
Since the synergies are capped at 20 and only hard points are counted,
adding to + all skills will not screw up the damage synergies.

Both ways will give the same result.
