Sorted search

Solution
Intriguing!

It would appear that the resulting threads are listed chronologically based on the date the user joined, rather than the post itself. I'll add changing this to "by post date" to the features wishlist I'm compiling. Thanks for the heads-up!
Hey jpishgar,

For example: click on Tom's Hardware > Forum > Windows 7
Now click on the "Topics without answers" button.
This is what I would call a predefined search listing.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/user/noreponse.php?config=tomshardwareus.inc&cat=63

Today is 01-21-2010. The first posting on the list I just called up is dated 01-17-2010. That posting is not the most recent in the list of threads.

I notice the Tom's Hardware > Forum > Windows 7 does appear to be listed chronologically.

I hope that better defines my query.

Solution
jpishgar, you comment about the sort "join date" is not totally accurate.
It appears to be, but if you look closely you will see for example:

revoc1
Total posts : 3

rottenmutt
Total posts : 3

eirrick
Total posts : 3

However, the "Total posts" does appear to be in the sort criteria.
I'm not sure if this is important to you or not, but it's what I'm seeing.

As for your wishlist, I hope you have a lot of paper.
