sound card crackin, gamepad and mousey conked

hi all,

i had been facing with some problems lately.
PRoblem 1) my mouse will go died halfway thru playing counterstrike. I have to plug and unplug the mouse b4 it revives again.

problem 2) i've tried using game pad and steering wheel on the USB connection but they both will conk halfway thru playin games. the status shows undetected.

problem 3) there's crackin sound on and off while playin mp3 and playin counter strike.....

hmm...do u think it is the mobo prob, O.S problem or something else?

The cracking sound is a typical SBLive problem. Try the latest sound drivers and check the motherboard website for updates.

Aopen posted a BIOS update to fix this on my KT133 board which, umm, didn't work, lol!

I gave up and replaced the card with a Hercules Fortissimo, much better

Not sure about the other problems, is your mouse USB or PS/2?

mouse is PS/2, gamepad is USB. dunno watz wrong.

Sound like you either have a bad MB, or system resouces are all messed up. As I usually do ask, what PCI slot is your sound card in? Also, do you have the latest drivers for all your equiptment? The sound card should be in slot #3 (this is for most Via boards) whithin the next couple of weeks, I will be building an SIS 735 system for a friend, does anyone know of any soundcard issues with this chipset?

If it works for you then don't fix it.
