Sound Card for Video Editing?

I am looking to build a custom Video Editing PC, which needs to handle the following tasks very effectively:

Edit videos in Sony Movie Studio (i.e. the consumer-level Vegas), usually with 4-6 audio tracks.
Record HD game footage + audio commentary from microphone.

I would like to know whether a Sound Card is worthwhile. In particular:

Will it improve the quality of recorded audio?
Will it improve audio quality in videos that I edit (or improve editing speed/productivity)?

For reference, I would be looking to use an i7 6700 CPU and a GTX 980 GPU.

If the answer is yes, what Sound Cards would you recommend?

Thank you. :)

The sound card will only make the audio better* to you, to anyone else viewing it it will be as good as it was recorded and rendered.
