Sound Card necessity

Ok, so I've heard that a sound card is needed when building a computer. I want to know if I actually need to get one, because I plan on gaming.
And also, will I need a sound card with the motherboard I plan on building?

I have the:

Gigabyte LGA 1150 Intel H81 USB3.0 SATA 6G/S D-Sub HDMI mATX Motherboard

If I do, can someone please recommend a sound card that is good, but not that expensive.

most motherboard have sound build in. go to the gigabyte website to see if your motherboard have that.

That motherboard has an integrated sound device already. You will not need to purchase a separate sound card.
