Sound Card on ubuntu 12.04

I just downloaded Linux 12.10 along with Windows 7 host, on my HP Pavilion a6720f PC. All appears well except there is no sound at all. Please advise. Thanks.

post output of 'sudo aplay -l' and 'sudo lspci'

you may just need to select the proper sound output device, not sure if ubuntu has a special tool but you should be able to do this with 'sudo alsamixer'
