Sound card or not?

Hi all,
I was thinking about getting the Corsair Vengeance 2100, until I realised that it would be a better deal if I just got some headphones (Sennheiser HD 439). After looking at some pages I heard that it might be worth getting a sound card (was thinking the Asus Xonar DG). What are your thoughts on getting a dedicated sound card?

What's your motherboard?
Most high end integrated audio chips are as good as most dedicated cards, so I don't think it's worth it if you have a med/hi end motherboard.

To my knowledge (I am no audio expert) but if your not setting up a +1000 dollar sound system, then onboard audio more then adequate. Here is a link from real expert though.
