My RAM memory broke, so i got it to a local computer store for them to fix it. After 5 WEEKS i finally got it back. Everything seems to be running fine, except for the sound. Absolutely nothing can be heard, when i went into playback devices and tested my speakers there, it said "Failed to play test tone". I have been reinstalling some audio drivers, and it seems to be nothing wrong with the system. Windows recognises the speakers as plugged and working, but i cant hear anything. My current suspicion is on the sound card, but as i do not have any level of experience with the hardware i will just bring it to that shop. But before i do, i wanted to ask around here if you people may know what is happening? Thanks in advance.

Audio Equipment:
OS:

2| From the way you've detailed the issue in your post, the system might be dated. Which might also indicate that it's trying to make an exit, stage right.

3| Have you made sure the default playback device within your Sound Manager/Properties is that of your sound card? Assuming that you've got the latest appropriate drivers installed for your sound card...?
