sound card selection

Yo guys, i'm havin a Altec Lensing ATP 4 speaker set and using on board sound card. I would like to get a new soundcard apart from audigy (too expensive), mainly used for gaming and listenin to mp3. No recordin/sound editing. What do you guys recommend? thanks man!

Santa Cruz.If thats still too expensive,you can go with one of the Hercules cards like the Muse or the Fortissimo.

Hercules Digifire has 7.1 capability and is around $75.

at newegg.com the audigy oem (which is use) is $50..
audigy 2 with soldier of fortune 2 and hitman 2 (full versions) is only $100..

i would get one of those two unless you have some holdover grudge against creative.

Yeah, just don't but CREATIVE, unless you want poor quality and driver/hardware/OS/game issues.

My Duron 1300 eats P4's for dinner. Oh, the Celerons make a nice snack too.
