Have you previously installed Audio Drivers ? Look in device manager.
Is Windows Audio service set to automatic & started ? Look in services.msc.
Are the Audio Sound settings greyed out ?

Have you been to the computer manufacturer site and downloaded the Audio driver for your computer model ?

Are your speakers MUTED ?
