Hi all. My sister want to build a hackintosh for her work in sound engineer (audio recording, mixing, etc). She use Pro Tools in her 2012 macbook pro for her work. I don't really understand about apple/hackintosh, but her friend suggest this build, and she asked me about this setup:

CPU: Intel i5 9500
Mb: Asrock H310CM HDV
RAM: 1xKingston HYPERX FURY DDR4 8GB 2666MHz
SSD: Kingston SSD A400 240GB
PSU: Corsair CV450
GPU: AMD Radeon HD7600

price: $400

My question is:
  1. Should we use 2x4GB instead of 1x8GB RAM ?
  2. Is it ok if we only use an old GPU? will it be compatible ?
I also have a Nvidia GT 240 from my old machine, should we just use this instead? will it also still compatible ? (this way we can go for another 8GB RAM)

Thanks

Using a "hackintosh" for professional production work is not advisable. It is not the same thing as using a Mac. For example, OS X updates, tend to break the "hackintosh".

See the sticky threads here:
