I just got an Acer monitor, model kg271 27", mainly to play Xbox one and to casually watch movies on my laptop, but I'm having this problem when trying to connect my JBL Flip 4 to it, (with aux cable) since the monitor speakers are shit . The sound works fine for a few seconds then mutes for some seconds only to work again, and this keeps going ,on and off... What I don't understand is that when I plug my headphone (tried with 2 different headphones), both worked fine. There seems to be no problem with the speakers from the monitor as well. Already tried 2 aux cables, and I had the same result as the one described above... Does anybody have an idea of what's going on? Just to be clear, the JBL speaker is working fine with other devices. Sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language

Solution
IIRC, the FLIPs have an automatic feature that mutes them when it doesn't detect sound. You can check for a firmware update for them but last I checked they hadn't incorporated any fix for it. See if playing a constant (louder) stream to them keeps them 'awake'.
