Sound in old games

I have an old game 'Fragile Allegiance', dated about 1995 I think, and i
would like to play it with sound and music, but the dos setup won't
recognize my sound card (intel AC '97). There's some emulator or some way to
fix it? At least for the sound fx!

And I didn't try them with fragile (since I haven't got that game) but
usually one of them works with old games (though it sometimes take a lot of
time to get the parameters right).
