Sound is bad after Windows 10 exits sleep mode

This is a strange issue... For the past three months since some update, Windows 10 has been giving me a headache with bad sound. At first I thought it was the audio drivers. But recently I've been able to zero-in on the root cause. When I boot my PC, there is no issue with sound. But if my PC goes into sleep mode, and then leaves sleep mode, the sound "skips" for a fraction of a second every few seconds. It's very discreet, but you can hear it and it's incredibly annoying. The only solution is for me to restart Windows 10.

So what gives? Any idea as to how to solve this?

1. Desktop
2. I installed the latest BIOS version.
3. As far as audio drivers, several times I uninstalled and let Windows re-install the drivers, before I downloaded the latest MSI drivers.

Finally, after one year of having done everything possible and after so much frustration... I did a clean re-install of Windows 10 several weeks ago and just now realized I haven't had the issue anymore.
