Question Sound is muffled with new microphone

Hi guys - i bought a new microphone and i noticed that the pc sound is muffled with it on.

by pc sound, i mean the sound from youtube, playing games, etc - so not the microphone quality

i was wondering what is causing this? when i was just using the microphone in my headset before, i didnt have this issue

when im playing valorant, the sound difference is quite noticeable. for example, gun shots arent crisp. its not that bad actually, but it feels like im using cheap headphones

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Make and model "new" microphone"?

Make and model of the original or previous microphone?

Did you manually download and install the drivers for the new microphone? ( No third party tools or installers.)
