I previously had Windows XP, and the sound worked fine.
Updated to Windows 7, and now I have nothing

Note: My computer is hooked up to my TV with an HDMI cord, and an audio cord.

It could be two areas. The first being a missing sound driver (XP drivers and Win7 drivers are different), and the second being the sound is being sent to the wrong out connector.

1- Download the free version of Speccy: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download to see what audio (external card) or motherboard you have. Search the manufacture and make sure you can download the correct audio driver.

2- Sending the audio to the correct output changed a lot from XP to Win7. Here is a short vid i found that will walk you through understanding the (confusing) audio setup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99LhYIwVT98

Thought I should mention that if you click on the speaker icon in the bottom right corner, the green volume wave goes up and down during a video that is making sound...

I'm stuck.
I installed speccy, found I have intel motherboard. Went to intel driver updates, it found recommended installations for my sound, I installed it, and it gave me a program called "Sound Max". I'm not sure what to do with this....
