Hi, I have Windows 10 and using the Asus Realtek HD Audio Manager and not sure which one is the problem. Basically my computer thinks I have headphones plugged into the front case headphones jack when I do not. I have unplugged the front case wire which controls the 2 audio jacks at the front and restarted the computer which fixes it but when I shut down the computer and plug the front audio case wire back in and load the computer I am greeted with this:

Saying that it has detected that I have plugged in headphones when I haven't. This is really annoying as my front speakers no longer work unless I change this setting:

But of course I don't want to do this because sound will then come through my front speakers and any headphones I actually do want plugged in.

Does anyone know why realTek keeps thinking I have headphones plugged in? Is it a case problem, realtek, or windows 10? I have tried reinstalling realtek twice, updating all drivers, updating windows 10, and restarting my PC. Only thing left to do is reinstalling the OS 🙁

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't sure where to put it!
Thanks for reading :)

Solution
EDIT: Even more strange, when I plug in a pair of headphones it thinks I no longer have headphones in! It's doing the complete inverse; when I have headphones out, it thinks they're in, when in, it thinks they're out! WTF

The jack detection works by checking impedance on the line by sound drivers, The problem might be coming from loose front header. So I suggest to reattach front header line from motherboard. Also make sure your HD audio/ AC97 header is matched with software settings as they both have different wire configuration.
You said you've tried "front audio case wire" , if that means the front header, we might wanna know how old the hardware is. In other case, the header wires are short circuited / damaged that is why they have higher impedance.
