So recently I bought Acer Gaming Monitor 23.6” Curved ED242QR with newly build PC. I have updated all the drivers, and yet still the monitor is not making any sound. I have tried messing around in the sound setting and the device manager and it's still not making any sound. Also, I am using a display port to plug the monitor to the PC.

If you do HDMI to the monitor it should also carry sound. I checked the manual for the monitor but it gives no information on the audio.

You will have to make sure that the sound is being output by your graphics chip and not the onboard sound though. It should default as it normally has a detection protocol that will handle that.

However its the same as if you were using the 3.5mm out so I don't see why thats an issue.
DisplayPort does support audio over it but very few manufactures actually utilize it. I doubt your computers audio supports it.

If you want to use the monitor you will most likely have to use the 3.5mm headphone jack that is on the back of the monitor to the audio output on your system.

Why would I do that if the monitor itself has an internal speaker? I get, it's another way to listen but I want to utilize the monitor sound feature and hear how it's sound.

The monitor has internal speakers. However the audio has to be provided from some part of your computer. If you use HDMI it most likely would carry the audio over. However most DisplayPorts on GPUs or monitors are not setup for audio and are only setup for video so to use the monitors speakers you need to use the 3.5mm jack thats on the monitor.

Could I replace the DisplayPort to the HDMI? Would that fix the problem?
