Sound only plays on the left side

My sound only plays on the left side. I've tried everything - the speakers,
the connection, different speakers, reinstalling the driver - and I'm still
lost.

I have no idea when this started - I'm not the one that generally uses this
computer. No programs have been installed recently that would affect sound
like this.

Is there anything that I'm missing that would help?

Try another sound card, or reseat the sound card and confirm that all
connections to it are solidly plugged.
