sound out of sync

I have been noticing lately, that my sound is out of sync with the videoes I watch. And it doesn't matter if it is youtube or local files. It isn't out of sync, when the videos start, but slowly they get more and more out of sync. The quick fix, is that I restart the videos, but that quickly gets annoying? Anyone experienced the same? And As said it doesn't seem to be isolateted to a specific video source.

Hi Mark, The problem is not only with my web browsers, it is also local files on my pc, which I use PotPlayer to watch.

Please list your entire PC specifications including make and models of motherboard, OS , video card etc.

Motherboard: MSI Z77 mpower
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 980 G1
CPU: i5-3570K 3.4 GHz
Screen: LG 29" LED FreeSync 29UM68-P (I mostly use the speakers on this screen)
OS: Windows 10 (newest version)

So the Monitor is connected via HDMI? Does the lag also occur with normal speakers?

The monitor is actually connected via. DisplayPort 1.2 a 2m cable, but my TV, which is a older Samsung model, is connected with a 10 meter HDMI cable. But is hasn't been a problem before 1-2 months ago.

Reinstall the graphics drivers
Try with a shorter HDMI cable
