I have my GPU, a GTX 960, hooked up to my TV through a Display Port-HDMI Adapter. I have an HDMI cord running from my GPU to my LG receiver, and I'd like to use it to get 5.1 sound, or at least get stereo through all my speakers if possible (it currently only outputs through two, from the RCA cords).
After hooking everything up, I go to check my Playback Devices, it lists the usual suspects, but no HDMI. I make disconnected and disabled devices visible, and there it is, HDMI output... to my TV. Why is it detecting the DisplayPort to TV as audio (when I'm just using it for video), and not the HDMI-receiver?
