I have had HyperX Cloud headset for 5 months and has been fine besides the wires getting very curled so I had to cut through the protective cover of the wire so it didn't bend but today randomly the mic stopped working. It is still enabled and when I plug and unplug it my mic picks up something for a split second. The earphones part of it works fine though so is there a fix or do I need a replacement for the mic part to plug in.

Also my computer doesn't play sound anymore unless through a headset or earphones. It shows as playing but without anything external plugged in it doesn't output any sound even though it did not long ago.

1| Are you working with the Cloud I, II, Core or the Stereo version of the HyperX headset?
2| Can you please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your OS? Have you made sure your BIOS and remaining drivers are up to date?
3| Have you tried working with another pair of headsets that are similar in connectivity nature to your HyperX set to rule out your headsets are fine?
4| Since you've cut into the exterior wire, Kingston can levy the blame on you so you probably won't receive an RMA process in case the headset is faulty/on it's way out.

I haven't cut into the wire itself, I cut into the braided part around the wire, because it was doing more harm than good as it bent the wire out of shape and it wouldn't go back if I hadn't. Also I fixed the mic not working, it was the wire extender. It came with another lower quality one but it works again. Still have the problem with my audio playing through the pc though.
