Sound Problems

So I am using the Windows High Definiton Audio Drivers and when I plug a mic into the front panel it does not work, only for back. A headphones work but not the mic. I transplanted a HP Slimline to a Antec 300 case and plugged the front panel audio jack in to the correct motherboard jack. Help!

you may have to enable the front panel in software .

Right click on the speaker icon in the system tray

are you sure you plugged the front audio header into the right connectors? And are you sure you connected it the right way round?

Then it probably Isn't going to work. possibly a bad connector, but Without replacing the hardware its unlikely to work.

I think that the way the motherboard is made (by hp) it does not have the front panel capability...
