Sound quality terrible when using audio jack

I'd been using a USB headset and the sound quality was fine, but when I plugged in a new set of headphones I'd just bought, the sound quality was terrible, most noticeably when listening to music. I've scoured the internet for a solution, and the closest one I can find is to balance the audio to one side (completely to left or right). this does fix the quality, and a lot of people close the subject here, but it also negates 3D audio for obvious reasons. I just want to know if there is a proper way of fixing the audio problem while keeping the 3D audio capability of my headset, if possible at all.
Audio enhancements are all off, and so are all effects in the Realtek HD Audio manager. The headphone's plug has 2 rings.

Can you provide a full specs of your system? In addition to that please include your audio hardware i.e the two headphones you used to decipher the issue with your system.

Have you tried downloading from Realtek's download page and seen if the issue is resolved with your analog audio connections/output?

Audio Issues is one of the common problems seen on Windows 10 for newly built systems and systems that were fine prior to a migration to 10.

I am using some stereo channel Sony Headphones, but I dont have the packaging so I can't really tell you much more about them.
I tired updating the realtek driver thing and it uninstalled, and said it would reinstall after I restarted. and then it didn't. So then I visited the page for my motherboard and tried downloading the realtek driver from there, just to make sure I was getting the right one. once again nothing happened after the restart, and now I cant find the realtek manager at all.
