Sound seetings lost after each reboot

Hi there. Running Windows 10 Home Premium 64 bit on a PC. My soundcard is VIA HD. After each reboot, my sound is gone. This didn't happen with Windows 8/8.1. I realize I can go to the device manager, uninstall and scan for hardware changes. Then it's back. So I downloaded this program Removed reference to known source of spam - SS and restore the driver after each reboot. But that's not a solution! I wish to find out how to make Windows KEEP my settings. I asked that question weeks ago on Windows 10 forum, and on the Microsoft community. Nobody, so far, has come up with anything. Is it so difficult? What could be the problem?

Your problem seems different but after disabling some audio output options other than what I wanted I was then able to re-enable those and the default remained as desired. No idea what was happening in the registry but this method was simpler than using an alternative driver for me on one system.
