Sound Speaker/Headphone Issue

I want speakers connected to my computer to play music while having something else play through my headphones, but not the speakers. How can I easily do this? Is there an alternative to Playback/default comm/Stereo mix crap, like 3rd party software? I'm so sick of switching between my sound cards and default settings.
Yes, i had a headphones audio splitter, but lost it...

Anything is helpful. Can you save me from having to buy another splitter? Thank you in advance!

Check if your play back program has selectable output options. If not, just get another splitter although I'm not sure how a splitter would do what you want since it just splits the same audio among different sources. Virtual Audio Cable may do what you want.
