So, my screen turned dark, and I know it's my GPU acting up (long story), should prob replace it soon. Anyway, usually when this happens, I just Winkey+x u r and then after the system restarts, everything is back to normal, but for the first time, the sound stopped working after the reboot.

Now, I think I can fix it with a normal integrated windows troubleshooter, but, my question is, does sound on desktops usually come from CPU or GPU or motherboard?

I don't have a dedicated sound card.

Also, which one of these is the one I need to select in order to start the troubleshooter? Don't know what any of them are. Thanks.

which you choose depends on what your speakers are attached to.
If speakers attached to motherboard, choose realtek
If speakers attached to monitor directly, it would be the AMD digital output... I don't know which as you have too many it seems.

All the devices attached to motherboard are controlled by the same chip on motherboard. So if GPU is playing up, it can make other parts crash too. I would replace GPU sooner rather than later.
