Sound wont go to my tv anymore

Hello,
I used to have sound going to my tv but now i have changed a setting somewhere which has disabled it. I am not very good with computer systems so apologies for any mistakes made. I have an SB X-FI Xtreme sound card with a Realtek HD audio manager, are they supposed to work together or is one separate from the other. I dont where i should be looking to fix this and is there a simple program that i can download which will manage my audio for me?

Which jack off your PC is actually transmitting audio from the PC to TV i.e off your onboard motherboard sound or off the discrete X-Fi card? Also u ay have to go into BIOS and disable onboard sound if it is the latter
