Hello,
I have a Sound Blaster Recon 3D Pro card that has just suddenly stopped working properly and I would like to know if someone could help me resolve this issue.
Despite everything being hooked up properly and functioning normally for years; suddenly the sound cut out during a game I was playing and I can't seem to get sound output through my speakers anymore.
What is really odd is when I boot up into my (K)Ubuntu Linux partition and test out the sound, everything works great (movies, music), loud and clear.
I can still get sound output through my monitors speakers though, which is odd, but not my 4.1 surround sound speakers.
I've tried uninstalling my sound card drivers and letting windows install the default ones through Windows Update but despite those drivers installing themselves without issue and recognizing the card I don't get any sound through the audio out sound jacks.
Would anyone have any advice for me? Thanks.
Update: Could it be that my sound card just died?
