Soundblaster Unrecognized by Windows

I just installed an old Soundblaster Live card I got from my friend (SB0060). I tried two different PCI slots and my computer just won't find it. I also tried this with an Ensoniq AudioPCI card. The computer can't find it as plug and play, or as a non plug and play device. Do you know what might be going on? I'm pretty sure at least one of the cards is functional to the point that windows (2000) would recognize it.

Make sure you have your mainboard chipset drivers installed before installing the audio card.

It is the weakest link. They are not ready yet many have tried and failed with it.
