I have a "Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio" installed and I'm simply not getting any sound.

My motherboard is an Asus P8H61-M LX. it says it has PCIe 2.0 ports. I've attached the sound card to it. I see the soundcard in the device manager. It says "the device is working properly." I also see the device in the windows sound tab (as "digital audio S/PDIF") and the little bars on the side move with the music, apparently indicating its working.

And yet no sound. One thing that I suspect- the soundcard has like a third protrusion that I'm not using, right next to the 2 related to the PCI slot. What is that? See picture of soundcard-

Any ideas??

Hello... If your Device Manager lists the card, Windows 7 see's the Card and is happy with the driver... If it says VISTA, I'm going to guess that you have WINDOWS 7 32 bit OS... You can have Multi-Sound Device Cards installed in a Computer, But you need to tell Windows which one you want use...
Go to Control Panel, Sound, Playback, and select Creative, and Apply...
What are you going to use for your Sound? Speakers? Head Phones? You will need to have a Amplifier connected to the Green Line Level Output connector for Stereo Sound.
