Sources to learn we design

I'm short, I have decided to learn web design. I'm currently enrolled in a MOC/free online class taught by W3C which is supposed to teach me HTML5. However, I am also looking to purchase a book because I like being able to read/work away from the pc.

Ran a basic search for html5 books which yielded the following list HTML books

What do you think? Are any of those books good? Also, is there one not on the list you'd recommend? How about another website or resource that can be used to learn web design?

HTML & CSS by Jon Duckett is one of my absolute favorites. Very easy to read and really helpful when you're just starting out.

As for general web design books, once you're ready for new subjects, this list has some really great reads.
