SouthBridge Cooler for SLI

The South Bridge fan on my XFX 680i LT board is real loud but it seems like it may be difficult to replace. I have two 8800 GTS's in SLI at the moment and it seems like the south bridge fan is nearly directly under the main video card.

Just wondering if there is a south bridge cooler out there that will cover the heat sink and sort of stick out in between the two cards.

And if so, will this be something I am going to have to take my mobo out for?

Can I turn the fan down a bit without risking damage?

Whats the best fix here!?!

SB really shouldn't need too much in the way of cooling...a heatsink/fan should suffice. If you are looking to replace it, I would say yes, you will need to pull your board in most cases to pull the old, put a new one on...unless you like risking destroying MB traces in the process.

Hopefully you remove the vid cards so you don't risk snapping them off as well... ??

It already has a fan on it at the moment, i was just hoping i could replace it with a passive heatsink as the stupid little fan emits this obnoxious whine. I dont mind the whoosh of the other fans, but the whine is too much.

I was hoping someone could suggest a good product for what I wanna do here.

Does your cooler have hooks or holes/tabs to mount?

You just have to determine the mount type then decide what will work for you.
