After nearly 10 months, I finally recieved my $30 rebate from Soyo.
After my last posting on this, I did file a complaint with the Better
Business Bureau and they did followup getting the same basic 60 day
nonsense that I got. Also, I had sent a note to ZipZoomFly about the
whole mess. Time passed, and ZipZoomFly did ultimately send me a note
essentially stating that they were in litigation with Soyo regarding
this rebate mess.

Did I get the rebate because of ZipZoomFly getting involved? Who knows.
Perhaps it was more to do with the BBB contacting them. Again who knows.
Bottom line is that I got the check, deposited it and waited the bank
holding period before writing this followup. (to make sure it didn't bounce)

Will I buy Soyo products again? Emphatically no! And in fact, I'm a bit
annoyed that it took ZipZoomFly as long as it did before I heard back
from them.

One point, the BBB will instantly back-off and eventually quietly drop
the matter if the company merely responds 'we're working on it'. It is
up to you to re-initiate the complaint on a regular basis. Even then all
they have to do is keep replying 'we're working on it' and they the
complaint won't affect their BBB rating.

Newegg.com refunded my rebate money after a week of back-n-forth
e-mails.

I got newegg.com involved but still haven't gotten one of my rebates.

Good move.

I'm pretty happy with newegg.com. I felt bad holding such a reputable
company to task for the problems with one of their suppliers, but it is
important for us to do this, so that the retailers will recognize that
Soyo (and like companies) have burned their bridges with consumers, and
in the process with their retailers. Only when no reputable retailer
will dare to stock their products will the problem company go away.

Me, I'm so burned on mail-in rebates (also lost $200 on mobile phone
rebates) that I boycott them all together. Generally I can beat CompUSA
prices, with mail-in rebate, by 10-20% on the Internet, without rebates.
