I have been trying since Oct. to get SP2 loaded on my new AMD Athlon64 3000+
based system. Asus MB, 1024 MB RAM, ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 9600XT (AGP),
CreativeLabs SB Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro sound card.
The only way I can even get SP2 to install sucessfully, is in Safe Mode.
Then on the reboot, windows loads, then it reboots with in a few minutes.
Upon re-entering Windows, I get the "Windows has recovered from a serious
error" message and it gets reported, the graphics driver is blamed. I have
gotten every new driver ATI has posted. I have to play "Beat the Clock" to
get the new driver loaded before the reboot. My only saving grace has been
setting Restore Points Before every attempt.
Before the SP2 install my All-In-Wonder works flawlessly! Has anyone else
run into this problem?
