SP2 question

I running WinXP Home SP1 & installed the SP2 package, but I ended up losing
all my addresses in my address book and my favorites (IE 6.0 & OE 6.0). It
appears the only negative effects of installing SP2 was with my browser &
OE.

I went ahead and uninstalled SP2 and went back to SP1 and everything is
running fine. My 2 questions are: Since I don't have any problems with
SP1, is it really necessary to have SP2 installed? And, is there going to
be a release of SP2 soon that will fix these "bugs" that appeared in the
browser & OE?

I went to the XP2 troubleshooting site & they have listed a known problem
with the address book, etc. I'll print that out and go through the steps
before trying to reinstall SP2.
