space for cooler on the cpu socket

with the gt1030 the cpu finally started to sweat, then the fan became a noise problem

i was decided to buy at least a cooler master hyper T4 but then i realized, it doesn't fit

my motherboard that is asus a68 hm plus has the socket and the ram slots very close

my ram is corsair vengeance, it is very tall, a inch or more i think

if i put that T4 the ram won't fit and this mainboard has 2 slots only, both with a ram stick in it

am i seeing things or the only cooler i can fit there is a cooler master hyper tx3 evo? perhaps a thermaltake that can be fitted sideways with the fan pulling air, same for the TX3

the case is a corsair 88r so is not that wide

anyone has fitted a cooler on this am2 socket? locally most coolers cost at least 40 dollars so i don't want to trow money to the trash for a cooler that doesn't fit

Solution
Zalman 7x and 10x i think are bigger, maybe im confused but can you put Tx3 pointing the top of the case, exhausting?. or Zalman x5 vertically to the rear.
sorry, forgot to say that i can only work with local prices, the 212 evo costs 60 dollars here, the tx3 costs 30 more or less, the t4 cost 40

can't find locally anything from deepcool

i guess i should buy the tx3 ad put the fan pulling air, should be way better than the stock cooler on this x4 860k

i was also thinking, i have a kingston hyperx pair of sticks, they work well as dual channel, perhaps a better option? they are white, my pc is black and some parts like ssd are silver

Maybe id-cooling SE-214X , or similar Id-cooling, where i live is cheaper than other brands, better than stock cooler and silent, but i do not OC. I think it does not interfere with high profile rams, as far as i know, but better confirm this before buying.
Cryorig is a good one , as suggested above, having to choose at similar prices , i will go with Cryorig.

couldn't find the criorig

i find locally thermaltake riing silent, zalman 5x, 7x, 10x, cooler master t2, tx3, tx3 evo(that can be mounted sideways with the an in pull mode), t4(that im almost sure it doesn't fit), 212x, artic freezer 7pro and 13co

since prices here are way high, not 20 like you find online, i can buy a arctic freezer 7, tx3 evo, zalman 5x

perhaps can stretch to the thermaltake, cant reach the 212, costs almost 60 dollars here, too much, almost double of the other 3 mentioned before in my price range, thermaltake is 50 dollars here

if anyone has or had one and know if it sits there and is a improvement in heat or noise, please share your experiences

thank you for replying

Check specs for Corsair 88r , and compare with CM 212 evo, thermaltake riing silent, i think they are above your case cpu maximum height, including id-cooling.

From Arctic i know a11 and Freeze 13, they are good with temps and quiet, but check freezer 7 if it fits with your high profile rams. Im only saying this as suggestion or opinion, but before buying , better check specs.

i'm having the same doubts you mention there, it seems that the 212x shouldn't fit because the 88r accepts 150 mm coolers and this one is 158mm tall, the thermaltake is 159, same situation, this 88r has a wide door, but not on the exact area, so i have to find a 92mm fan type of coolers, the tx3 and the artic or the zalman ones

the arctic, perhaps if i can put them with the fan pointing the top of the case, the only way it will fit, sideways the ram will not fit, same for the tx3, sideways will fit but with the fan pulling

With Tx3 you can add a second fan , you also mentioned Arctic 13 co above, for lower noise. What processor you have, do you overclock?.Maybe Arctic 7 or Zalman wouldnt suit your cooling needs, but im only guessing as i dont know much about them. Maybe someone can bring more information?.

the cpu is amd x4 860k, the current pcs specs in my sig are correct

i don't overclock but the mainboard decided to set the cpu 200mhz faster, no idea why

the zalman you mention that wouldn't work, would be any of the mentioned or the small 5x?

Zalman 7x and 10x i think are bigger, maybe im confused but can you put Tx3 pointing the top of the case, exhausting?. or Zalman x5 vertically to the rear.

Solution
theoretically yes, tx3 pointing up, but the heat pipes, i think they hit against the first ram slot, not sure, that is why i think on installing it sideways but with the fan pulling air instead of pushing

the zalman, the fan, i don't know if you can move the fan, i think it can't be done, looks like the ram height must be very low for this zalman and my ram is not short at all

this is my ram

ok, went and found some extra models, some too expensive, other, well, so ugly and weird i had to pass

the ones i planned the tx3 evo, the tx3 and the zalman or the arctic freezer 7, 12, 33, 13

too big or too tall

the clearance for ram was a no with most, some no matter what orientation, wouldn't fit at all

the race went to the arctic silver 7, 12co and the tx3 evo

i got more convinced with the tx3, it looks alot easier to add a second fan if i want and also it seemed it could be fit aiming to the top of the case

also purchased another 120mm case fan, i put it on the top pulling air out

the cooler fits on that direction pointing to the top of the case perfectly, with around 4 millimeters of clearance between the heatsink and the ram sticks

i played for hours and couldn't make the cpu pass from 48°c, well at least i think, the mainboard still is convinced that the cpu runs at 70 on idle, so that value is from the cpu socket, not from cpu, which remains overclocked at 3.9, no idea why, mainboard hasn't been set to do that, it is not turbo, it does that value all the time

the noise, well, i can't hear the cpu fan now, i think i can even overclock more, perhaps to 4.2ghz, the mainboard perhaps would disagree with me

so the air flow ended with two 120mm fans in the front, one 120mm in the back and one 120mm in the top, over the cooler master tx3 evo

theoretically the arctic, the t2 and any other cooler with a 92 mm fan will perfectly fit on that mainboard on this specific case

any other cooler will not fit thanks to the maximum height of the case and the height of the ram you have, in my case a very tall one

one thing that got me very surprised was the stock cooler, i could remove it very very easy, usually they are almost glued to cpu, when i looked, the paste was all on the cpu but on a very thin layer, the heatsink itself wasn't really doing much it seems, the original thermal paste i left there wasn't doing the best job it seems, in a matter of another 2 months i think it would be all dried

will see how it behaves and change thermal paste in some months, mount this particular heatsink was a pit thanks to the mounting system reusing the amd mounting system so it seems i didn't centered it perfectly, yet it goes on idle at 32°c

thank you everybody for your help
