Hi all, I'm going to be building a new PC, and am wondering about fitting the CPU cooler.

My current PC has a 212 Hyper EVO on an FX-6300. In the case I have now, the cooler touches the side, and bows it out a bit, making the side panel a bit of a chore to put on.

I'm worried that if I get a new case, especially one with a clear plastic or glass side, that I could end up not being able to put on the side panel at all.

My question is, are CPU/mobo combos and standoffs typically a standard(ish) size? Can I use my existing case as a baseline to get a new one that's wide enough?

Also, any suggestions for a good budget case? I don't really care what it looks like, just that it has good airflow and reasonable cable management. I was looking at the Rosewill Challenger S, and the Fractal Design Focus G.
