What is the amount of space between the socket and the first RAM slot on a Gigabyte Z87-UD4H? What about between the socket and the second RAM slot on the same motherboard?

Sure! I'm buying a Coolermaster V6 GT and Vengeance Pron RAM. Because there isn't quite enough clearance (34.0mm) on the V6, and the Vengeance RAM(44.0mm) wont fit, i'm trying to see whether i can just stick the 2 sticks in another set of RAM slots.

If you are using 2 ram slots and your motherboard supports 4, then you are required to use slot 1 and 2 (refer to your motherboard manual for which one 1 and 2 is; ex. 1 and 2 could be slots 1 and 3 on the motherboard, it does not necessarily mean that 1 and 2 is 1 and 2 on the motherboard). If this is not followed then the RAM wont show up in your system. That said if you want a colder computer my recommendations would be as the following:

For the rear exhaust fan

120 mm fan:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($86.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $86.99
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

140 mm Rear Exhaust fan:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X40 98.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $99.99

These two solutions all though they might be a little more expensive will keep your computer really nice and cold, as well as be a lot better fit for your motherboard and ram problem. I hope this helps some, and also please remember to select a best solution so that others may learn from this thread. Thank you for your time and have a good day.

My case does not have space for a radiator, unfortunately. My motherboard can run RAM in slots 1/3 or 2/4. Therefore I need to know the distance from the socket to the first RAM slot or from the socket to the second RAM slot, to know whether I a)can simply move my ram to a different set of slots or b)I need to choose a different RAM or fan altogether.
