Question Space requirements for new system

Hi there, I'm building a new system with a an E-ATX board (Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D sTR5 E-ATX Motherboard). I'll likely be using a 420 (might be 320) AIO CPU cooler and an RTX 4080. This is based on a Puget Systems design and it looks like they recommend the Fractal Design Define 7.

My last several systems used Phanteks Full Tower cases and I loved the space, but they are BIG and I've been reading in this forum about airflow. It makes sense that a smaller case is better for air flow but in my mind it would reduce airflow with cable obstructions.

It's going to be a hot system so I'm more concerned about performance than silence. I love Phanteks but I've been reading a lot about Lian Li as well. I'd really would like to stick to $150-$200 if possible. There are several "Fractal Define 7" versions but I think I'm looking at the XL model. Performance is better than looks but I would like it to look sharp. RGB is not necessary.

So I guess my question is, will any E-ATX case work for this set up?

Thanks so much!

The Pop XL comes to mind;

though I'm assuming you're located in the U.S.A since the $ is currency in other countries too(outside of the U.S.A).

Anotehr would be the North XL;

Pretty much any case that is well designed is going to work these days provided it supports the motherboard size of course. The Define series is. not terribly good airflow wise, but they do have good expandability and are fairly quiet. For the system you're putting together I think I'd be looking for something more airflow focused.

You should also decide on cooler before picking a case as many have asterisks on supporting 420s.

Just a specific note: big cases can have really good airflow as well so long as they're properly designed. The Cooler Master HAF 700 is a great example of exactly this.

I really appreciate both of your input! This gave me the information I needed to dig deeper. I'm looking at both of those mentioned as well as a few others.

I've still got few more parts to buy but I think I'm getting close. On the memory forum you guys helped me find the correct RAM. I appreciate all of the help!
